Five pieces, ready to send.
Not magic, not AI pretending to be a lawyer. An assembly process between your facts and templates built on consolidated Portuguese case law. Here's what happens, step by step.
1 · Diagnostic (4 minutes · free)
You answer plain questions: what happened, when, with what amounts, with what evidence in hand. Triage in three phases:
- Safety + eligibility triage — is anyone in danger? Already in court? Property in Portugal? These decide whether our product is the right path. If it isn't, we tell you what is.
- Legal-regime detection — building (CC art. 1225, 5 years) or non-building (CC art. 1220, 30 days)? Was the contractor a registered professional (Lei 24/96 applies)?
- Key dates — when did you agree? When did the work end (or get abandoned)? When did you discover the problem? Have you sent any letter already?
At the end, we show your legal deadlines — how many days remain in each window. No email gate. We don't make a single AI call during this phase.
2 · Email + see your result (1 minute · free)
We ask for your email so we can save your progress and show you the result page. The page is personalised to your case — which scenario, which legal frame, which forum we'd recommend, and what the full pack would contain.
3 · Full intake (~30 minutes · free)
You create an account by magic-link (email — no password) and enter the tool. The intake is a guided conversation on the left, with the timeline of your renovation taking shape on the right.
What you upload:
- WhatsApp
.txtexport — we parse it automatically and propose timeline events, payments, and key messages. You confirm. - Photos and videos — we preserve original metadata (EXIF), SHA-256 hash on upload, and date.
- Bank-transfer / MB Way / invoice / quote receipts — categorized automatically; you confirm.
- Contractor identity — NIF (tax ID), registered office, IMPIC licence. We validate against the public Portuguese registries. We surface insolvency, dissolution, expired licences.
- Defects — one by one, with photos, dates, severity.
4 · Free firm message
What you generate, free, sendable today:
- A firm Portuguese message (<em>interpelação amigável</em>) — polite-but-formal, the tone Portuguese contractors take seriously
- Built from the timeline you reviewed and the files you uploaded — your dates, your amounts, your evidence
- Bilingual preview in the workspace — read the English version to confirm what you're saying, send the Portuguese
- Send by WhatsApp, email, or print on paper — your call
- Your deadline dashboard alongside it — green / yellow / orange / red, computed from the dates you provided
Many contractors respond to this letter and never escalate. If they don't, the full pack adds the registered notice and the case file.
5 · Full pack (€149 · one-off)
We generate:
- Case file (PDF, ~12 pages) — formal Portuguese, CPC art. 552 layout, with Civil Code / Consumer Law / DL 84/2021 article references in every paragraph
- Notice letter for registered mail — formal Portuguese, with the 6 elements the law requires and the right "reasonable deadline" for your case
- Routing recommendation letter — Portuguese, with English summary appendix for expats, identifying the recommended forum and how to file there
- English summary appendix (~3 pages) — what your case looks like, in plain English
- Deadline dashboard — embedded in the file and available in-product
- Organized evidence ZIP — Doc-001-[type]-[date]-[short-desc].ext, with SHA-256 hashes
- Lawyer-handoff one-pager — single-page summary for any Portuguese law firm to triage in 60 seconds
Payment via Polar — Merchant of Record, handles EU VAT for us. SEPA, card, MB Way.
6 · Print and send the letter
You print the letter. You walk into a CTT post office (any of them — they're everywhere in Portugal). You ask for "carta registada com aviso de receção". The receipt the counter gives you is your proof of sending under CC art. 224. Cost at CTT: typically €5–€8.
If you're outside Portugal, you can either send the letter by international tracked mail from where you are, or ask someone in Portugal to drop it at a CTT counter. We tell you which CTT counter to use based on the contractor's registered address.
In parallel, where applicable:
- Submit the AT complaint (free, online) if no invoice was issued
- File a queixa-crime at PSP/GNR or via queixaselectronicas.mai.gov.pt if there are fraud markers
- Notify the contractor's liability insurer if a policy exists
7 · When the contractor responds
Most respond. Your account stays open — you come back, update the timeline with their reply, and if needed we generate the next piece (counter-letter, refusal of subsidiary remedy, escalation to the Centro de Arbitragem competent for your district).
What we don't do
- We don't represent you in court. If the case goes to court, you need a lawyer.
- We don't decide for your case. We assemble your facts in the right format. The final decision is yours — under Lei 10/2024, you author the letter on your own behalf, and lawyer review is your call, not a gate.
- We're not a chatbot. There is AI involved in generating formal Portuguese prose and classifying free text — but the legal decisions are deterministic, based on your dates and answers.
- We don't recover money. We give you the document and the path. The outcome depends on the contractor, the tribunal, and you.
